In Business: I read about interesting people and unique ideas in industries unrelated to soccer and then I figure out ways to tailor and apply this knowledge to what I am doing.

In Personal Development:  I make a point to find and try activities that support me living my best life.

In Travel:  I remain flexible about where I go and what mode of transportation that I will use to get there.

In Creating Opportunities: What I have between my two ears is my greatest weapon. I ask for guidance to see small details, recognize unique solutions and connect with overlooked prospects.

Shocking your leg muscles with a new set of intense exercises are sure to come with some soreness.  Here are three things that I do to help my leg muscles recover from my trainings, both on and off the field.

  1. Drink a lot of water.  Water helps to remove the lactic acid build that occurs which results in soreness.
  2. I stretch (before and after my workouts).  To relieve muscle tightness, I am constantly stretching.
  3. Hop in an ice bath.  I know it is not fun, and quite a bit painful at first, but once I get out of a 20 minute sit in the tub, my legs feel brand new.

Besides the exercises that you do in the Goddess Legs Series, are there any other types of lower body training that you do?

I will let you in on a secret.  It is quite common for me to train in water.  From my Brazilian soccer trainers to my former speed/agility trainer (John Lewis of Energy Fitness), I have spent my fair share of running, jumping, backpedaling and using kickboards in lap pools.  The great thing about working out in water is that it provides resistance with little to no pounding on your joints.

How much do you run every day?  It is a question that I get asked quite often. By now, you should know that the road to great legs doesn’t have to include monotonous running on a treadmill.  And, I will tell you that it was definitely not the path I took to getting my legs looking like they do today.

Something as simple as chair squats or rolling a ball between your feet can have a transforming effect.  Check out episode four of Goddess Legs 3-90.

According to a 2013 Cosmopolitan.com article, women will spend a total of 72 days of their life shaving their legs.  If this in fact the case, I would like to encourage you to add an extra 90 seconds to your 4 minute daily routine of leg maintenance.  I'm quite sure the benefits of doing a Goddess Legs 3-90 workout will make you feel a little bit better about this "most hated body maintenance ritual."  Enjoy episode two!

What’s the power in a pair of legs?  David Beckham’s yielded $195 million dollar insurance policy in 2006.  Tina Turner’s landed her a Hanes campaign.  For a few lucky ladies, theirs became a part of pop culture history with a highlight in ZZ Tops’ hit on the subject.  And for me, my legs helped me shine in a Fila ad campaign. So to help others who aspire to turn heads with their legs, we are launching a 7- week exercise series entitled Goddess Legs 3-90.  In each episode, I teach you three leg drills that I do to keep my legs at the top of their game on and off the soccer field.  Then, we perform those same drills together in a 90 second workout.

With a growing bank of BPS clips ready to roll out, my daily question becomes this.  What should I gift you with today?  You need to learn your way around the soccer field, but there is a whole lot of life that a fan or participant of this sport must experience inside and outside of the club.  Therefore, be prepared to received 30 seconds of education on verbs, food, greetings and clothes.  It's a crash course, pay-it-forward curriculum based on my 5 months in Rio.  So keep sticking with me!

A few days after I arrived in Rio, I found myself on a bus with all of its passengers in the midst of an animated discussion about me.  The team training session had been moved to another location, and I was trying to find it. Although I knew some Portuguese, my simply formed question to the bus driver ignited a conversation about why this American girl was traveling alone to a place for a soccer practice.

Today's lesson will hopefully help you get to the field you are looking for a little easier.

When I was living in Rio, one of my teammates took me to see Christ the Redeemer.  Our multi-lingual, van driver gave me a really great piece advice on language learning.  Learn a new word or group of words every day.
